Perhaps the most impressive tower in the city walls and one of the most famous monuments in Thessaloniki, it is a masterpiece of the Middle Ages. After being built in the second half of the 15th century, it was used as a weapons amphitheater and artillery tower and was a strategic location during sieges or raids. While standing next to the tower and the main gate on the highest part of the walls, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful view of the Gulf of Thermaikos and clearly see the boundaries of the ancient city which today is actually an amazing historical center.
