Travnik Castle, known locally as Stari Grad Castle, is a medieval fortification complex, from the second half of the 14th century before the conquest of the Ottomans. The residents of the city built it to preserve their city from the incursions of the Ottomans, but they soon discovered that they were late in building it, as the Ottoman forces were able to destroy the incomplete access easily and entered the city, after which it was completed to become in the form it is now.
