Travnik is the city and administrative center of the Central Bosnian Territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is located in the center of the country, 90 kilometers (56 miles) west of Sarajevo. As of 2013, the city had a population of 16,534, while the municipality had a population of 53,482. Historically, it was the capital of Bosnia's rulers from 1699 to 1850 and has a cultural heritage dating back to that period.
