Hamburg City Hall is the main seat of Hamburg's local government, which means it is the seat of one of Germany's 16 parliaments. It is located in the Altstadt district in the city center near the Rathaus Market square. It was built between 1886-1897, after the destruction of the Old Town Hall in a fire in 1842 AD, and it took about 44 years to build a new hall. Designed in the Renaissance style, tourists can take tours inside the building to learn about the history of the city and Parliament.
