The Maqam of the Prophet Harun is one of the holiest places in Petra, which dates back to the Mamluk era. It is the tomb in which the Prophet Aaron, the brother of the Prophet Moses, was buried. It is located on the top of Mount Aaron, which is the highest peak in the region, with a height of 1350 meters above sea level. This area has long been a place of pilgrimage for locals, and well worth a trip if you have an extra day in Petra, and good physical fitness is required to withstand the high altitude there.
