Tio Jorge Park is one of the largest parks in Zaragoza, with a total area of about 151,538 square meters. The central point of the park is the monument dedicated to Tío Jorge, which is an iron structure approximately seventeen meters high. The lake is one of the most important corners of the park. It is an artificial lake that opened in 1973 and there is a bridge across it that leads to a small artificial island located in the middle of it.
