Information about Tillya-Kori Madrasah
The construction of the Tila Kori Madrasah began in 1646 by order of Samarkand Governor Yalangtush Bahadur and was completed in 1660. The school is one of the three famous schools located in Registan Square, and its name “Tila Kori” derives from its ornate exterior facade, as its name means “adorned with gold.” ". The school building is richly decorated with Islamic motifs and folk mosaics, making it one of the most beautiful monuments in Samarkand, and one of the landmarks on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
