Information about Sherdor Madrasa
The Shirdor Madrasah is one of the three historical madrasas located on Registan Square in Samarkand. The madrasa is an Islamic and spiritual educational building, memorial and place of worship from the 17th century. The school was produced by the Tatar theologian, philosopher, and historian, Shekibu al-Din Mardazani. Although the school is huge, it used to receive only 40 students each year. The school was placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List for the beauty of its building, as it is covered with decorations, mosaics and Islamic writings, surrounded by high towers and huge gates, and from the inside it is decorated with arches, domes and some sculptures.
