The small theater was founded by community theater pioneer Consuelo de Reyes and her husband in 1935. The cinema was initially constituted as a news theater open from midday and a theater showing hourly programs of documentaries and news messages. Feature films were first shown in 1939 . This cinema has thrived on local support over the years. Despite numerous renovations to keep the cinema up to date with a digital sound system and the latest show technology, and refurbishment of the seats to provide the best in comfort, the small theater has retained the welcoming charm and warmth of a 1930s cinema, including a luxurious balcony with sofas in the main hall .
