One of the most famous gates along the ramparts that surround Zadar is the Land Gate, which was once the main entrance to the city. And if you only have time to see one of the gates - the Sea Gate, the Bridge Gate and the Saint Rocco Gate - this is the gate. The gate enjoys a privileged location, next to the port of Fosha, with views of the sour water. It was built in 1543 AD, and features a huge triumphal arch and two side arches, all decorated with images of the patron saint of Zadar.
