Information about The Good Samaritan Museum
The Khan of the Good Samaritan is an Ottoman building dating back to the nineteenth century AD, which was erected by Christians as the place mentioned by Jesus in his parable about the Good Samaritan. In the year two thousand and nine AD, the Museum of the Good Samaritan was opened, and it is one of the largest mosaic museums in the world. It is located on the main road between Jerusalem and Jericho (Street No. 1). The museum is located near the site of the khan mentioned in the New Testament about the parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25). The museum includes mosaic panels and archaeological findings from synagogues, Christian and Samaritan churches, including water channels and some remains from the reconstructed Byzantine Church of the Good Samaritan.
