Information about Temple of the Golden Mountain
It is an attractive temple, famous for its 17-meter-high image. Built at the end of the 7th century, the temple is located on top of a forested hill just outside the city of Chang Mai. The name Wat means golden mountain temple. The oldest structure of the temple is the pagoda. Huge gold-colored Naga snakes carve out the staircases on either side of the pagoda encased in a chedi door, dedicating a sacred relic of Buddha.
