The Floating Mosque of Tanjung Bunga is known as the Floating Mosque of Penang, as it appears to float on water at high tide. It is famous for its modern design with Moorish motifs, towering minarets with seven floors and an amazing panoramic view of the sea with pillars and stilts supporting its majestic structure over the water. The mosque is located along Tanjung Beach Bunga, built in 2004 in an attempt to replace an old mosque damaged in the major tsunami, covers an area of 1,295 square meters and can accommodate up to 1,500 people during prayer times.
