Taichung Park is the oldest park in Taichung. It was built in the era of Japanese rule and covers an area of 10 acres. It features many beautiful landscapes, such as lakes, pavilion, arch bridge, and many more. The park also offers a lot of recreational activities, such as an outdoor stadium, public court and tennis court. Some unusual European-style buildings and the Hocheng Pavilion in the park were erected in 1908 to celebrate the launch of the North-South Taiwan Railway.
