Located in the middle of rice fields in Taichung City, Taeksudim Forest occupies a fairly small area, but it has a large number of Takseodym trees sprawling in an orderly manner. Compared to Taxudem forests in other provinces, it is easily accessible, as it is located near the highway, and visitors do not need to go up into the mountains or pay entrance fees. Taxodem trees originated from the humid regions of southeastern America, and were imported to Taiwan in 1901 AD. They have a straight trunk and elegant tree structure, and can grow over 50 meters. Therefore, they are largely used as street trees or garden trees.
