The collection of the Symi Maritime Museum includes a large number of old maps, models of ships of various sizes, marine navigation tools, fishing equipment, sailors' and fishermen's supplies such as clothes, hats, and more. The museum attempts to preserve Symi's image as one of the best shipbuilding places in Greece where shipbuilding has been thriving for long periods of its history.
