Churchill was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1940 until World War II in 1945, and is considered the most prominent political leader during the wars of the twentieth century. Churchill was a British army officer, writer and artist at the same time, and the recipient of the Nobel Prize in Literature, and this statue was designed in his honor.
