The State Library of Queensland, located between the Art Gallery of Queensland and the Gallery of Modern Art, has elegant contemporary architecture, consisting of 5 levels with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the river. It hosts a number of free exhibitions that tell many stories about the history and culture of the region, as well as a writing center and a café dedicated to spending time with friends.
