The Munster City Museum was founded in 1979, and its first gallery opened in 1982. It is located in a new building in the city of Münster, and includes a number of shops on the ground floor to unite "art and commerce". The Museum shop offers visitors a wide range of options, from Books, exhibition catalogs, posters, and art pieces created by leading designers for the City Museum. This museum displays the history of Münster from its beginnings to the present, and in several special exhibitions, themes and aspects of Münster's cultural and artistic history are presented to the public.
