The Church of Saint Nicholas is the largest church in the old city of Perast. It is located in the central square and has a large bell tower. It acquired its present appearance in 1616 after it was built on the ruins of an earlier church from 1564. Next to this old church there is an unfinished church in the back, designed by The bell tower was built in 1691 by Ivan Skarpa, and is 55 meters high, and although built during the Baroque period, the bell tower features Renaissance and Romanesque styles.
