Built to serve the British residents of Argentina in 1831, St. John the Baptist Anglican Cathedral is the oldest non-Catholic church in the city and the mother church of the Archdiocese of Argentina. The site of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist was an old cemetery and was also a monastery for monks. The building is characterized by a neoclassical style with ornate columns and an internal altar that turned into an archaeological place with beautiful decoration. The church is one of the religious shrines that witness a great turnout by tourists.
