Saint George's Cathedral is an 18th-century Baroque Roman Catholic church located in the historic Union Square in Timisoara. It is dedicated to Saint George, referred to as the Roman Catholic Dome, and is classified as a historical Roman monument. The best example of Baroque architecture in the city, its double design, as well as the double cross towers on the outside, serve the symbolic role of protecting Christianity from Ottoman imperialism.
