Solar dos Magalhães is a seventeenth-century country mansion, located in the middle of the urban area of Amarante, and in the nineteenth century it became a symbol of the city's resistance against the Napoleonic invasion. The palace was burned by French forces in 1809, and only its walls remain of its original structure. Exterior with a polygonal plan divided into two floors, highlighting the composition of the impressive main facade.
