Shri Badrinath Rayan Temple, with its grandeur and ancient history, is one of the most important Hindu pilgrimage sites in Madurai in particular, and India in general, and is one of the four sacred places that have been referred to in the Hindu religion. The temple is located relatively far from the city center, in the heart of the Himalayas, where pilgrims will have to go through an arduous journey to reach this sacred spot. The temple was distinguished by a unique design, consisting of spacious external courtyards and the internal building consisting of three sections, the Holy Sanctuary and two halls dedicated to prayers. The temple contains a number of statues of sacred deities and idols of the legendary bird Garuda.
