Sliema Cathedral is located within the Citadel of Sliema, the largest and most elaborate cave complex in Cappadocia, which includes a gigantic kitchen, two halls, a basilica and other rooms carved around two adjacent courtyards. The basilica is one of the largest and most conspicuous churches in Cappadocia. The church, designed in the style of a basilica, contains two porticos dividing three aisles. Architectural features indicate great skill and planning. It has distinctive decorations.
