Drachenburg or Dragon Castle near Bonn sounds like a fairytale, but no kings have ever lived here. The building was constructed as a private palace at the end of the 19th century, but the Baron never lived in it and was used as a Catholic school and active college before it was largely destroyed by bomb raids in World War II. Fortunately, a private investor has helped preserve the castle for future generations and turn it into one of the most popular tourist attractions in the area.
