Porta Sant'Alessandro Gate is one of the four gates that reach the upper part of the city of Bergamo. The gate took its name from the Basilica of Sant'Alessandro, which was destroyed to build the famous Venetian walls in 1561. During the war, it was demolished, rebuilt and restored several times.
