The Santa Luzia elevator was built in order to be able to travel a distance of 160 meters in six to seven minutes. The journey on this funicular is the longest of all the funicular trains in the country, extending for a distance of 650 meters, and the train can accommodate 24 passengers; 12 seated and 12 standing, and people can also be transported in wheelchairs, baby cars and two bicycles.
