The Basilica of San Giovanni Furisevitas is a stunning church built in the 12th century AD, and initially outside the city walls, but with the passing of the centuries the city expanded greatly and the church became within its territory. The church was very small when it was built, and it would have been greatly expanded through the ages, but visitors can still see its original ornate facade. The Basilica of San Giovanni Furisevitas attracted famous artists who turned it into one of the most important churches in Italy.
