This statue is one of the most famous ancient statues in the city, which is located in Mahamivnawa Park in the city of Anuradhapura. The statue takes the form of a seated Buddha in a meditating position. The statue is 2.13 meters tall and carved from dolomite marble. The statue dates back to around the fourth to sixth centuries and is considered one of the best Buddha statues in Sri Lanka. Visitors must remove their shoes if they wish to approach the statue in the middle of the picturesque garden, and they can also take many memorial photos of this place and the statue.
