The city's most famous Catholic building, the Church of Saint Simon and Saint Helena, known in the local language as the Red Church, was built between 1908 and 1910 on the orders of a wealthy Belarusian family after the early deaths of their two children. During the Soviet era, the church was turned into a cinema and then into a movie studio. Today, it has been used again as a church. It is characterized by a distinctive architectural design, where the circular shape, which adds a wonderful touch of history to this modern city. Visitors come to the church constantly to perform prayers and perform some religious rites of their own.
