The Museum of the History of Belarusian Cinema is one of the youngest in Belarus, despite its nearly thirty-year history. The museum was founded on the initiative of Belarusian filmmakers in Minsk in 1976, to collect and preserve materials of national cinema and promote its achievements, in addition to collecting, classifying and presenting descriptions of documents and materials related to the history of Belarusian cinema and cinema culture in general, organizing themes and personal exhibitions related to Belarusian cinema and fine arts, and exhibiting Domestic and foreign classic films systematically.
