Pont Saint-Michel is one of the stone bridges in Paris that connects to the island of the city, and was built in the 1850s during the Second Empire. In the thirteenth century AD, a decision was made to build a bridge from the left bank over the island of the city, called Neuf Pont, which was completed in 1387 during the reign of King Charles VI. Then a new bridge made of stone was built between 1618 and 1624 during the reign of King Louis XIII, and there was an equestrian statue added to it the decorations of St. Michael and the Virgin Mary, and it was called St. Michael's Bridge.
