St. Michael's Church is located a few hundred meters from the center of Louvain. This church was built between 1650 and 1666 by white sandstone and ironstone. The facade looks like an altar with its Ionic columns and friezes decorated with angels, bunches of grapes, and pods of corn. The church was almost completely destroyed in 1944, only the facade miraculously survived, and the church's reconstruction was completed in 1950. This church is well worth visiting and seeing its stunning facade.
