This museum displays the zoology collection of the Catholic University of Louvain and houses an impressive collection of 5,000 preserved animals and skeletons . The pieces have been collected since 1850 with the aim of giving students an overview of the diversity of the animal kingdom. The museum is open to visit during university opening hours and has free admission. In the exhibits, there are a lot of animals that have been (partially) dissected in formaldehyde, and there is a complete skeleton of a bow whale.
