Information about Saint John's Fort
Early modern castle in Šibenik and located on a hilltop north of the historical center of the city. It is named after a medieval church dedicated to Saint John the Baptist that stood there from at least 1444 AD along with the neighboring Baron Castle. Built during the Cretan War, successive Ottoman attacks were successfully repelled in 1646 and 1647. It is one of the fortress that is still standing to this day, and you can enter it for free, and you can enjoy the beautiful landscapes it offers on the coast and the surrounding natural areas.
