The Church of Sant Pedro de Balsimão is located in a small plain on the banks of the River Balsimão, and although it is now part of a seventeenth-century palace, its interior design still retains the features of the tenth century, exemplified by the techniques of Iberian architecture, making it one of the Rare examples in Portuguese lands, and the church is characterized by the Roman influence, which is clearly visible in the many carved stones that were reused in the construction of the church's walls.
