Lamego Cathedral is a mixture of Gothic architecture and Renaissance style, dating back to the 12th century, making it the oldest cathedral in all of Portugal, although the only surviving feature from that time is the Roman base of the bell tower. The cathedral is dedicated to the Virgin, A large part of its facade was built in the fifteenth century, and its interior ceilings are adorned with beautiful biblical frescoes.
