Information about Russian Compound Church
The only church in the city of Hebron. It was named after the Moscow Church in reference to the Russian capital, “Moscow.” The Moskobiyya are the Russian Christians who came to Palestine in 1868 AD. This church is characterized by its amazing design inspired by Russian architecture, as it is distinguished by its golden domes with a gilded cross and its antique walls, which stand prominently on one of the hills of the city of Hebron. This church opens its doors on special occasions and for tourist delegations, particularly the Russians. Many visitors visit this church because of the oak tree next to it, which is estimated to be around 4,500 years old.
