The Rizal Memorial Library and Museum displays a collection of important artifacts of Cebu's history. A number of prominent Cebuano families also donated antiques, furniture, wood carvings and scriptures displayed in the museum. It also houses some paintings made by the best artists from Cebu. These paintings display the customs and traditions of Cebuanos. The museum also includes a number of important archaeological discoveries on the island. The ground floor of the building houses the library, where 14,000 volumes of magazines, books and similar publications are available to the public. The museum itself is located on the second floor of the building, while the third floor houses the Performing Arts Hall where concerts and cultural performances can be held.
