The Red Fort is a historical fort in the center of the Indian capital, New Delhi, and was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal dynasty, and this giant piece of architecture derives its name from its walls built of red sandstone. Today, the fort is home to a number of museums that contain a variety of valuable artifacts on display, and every year, the Indian Prime Minister raises the national flag on top of the fort to celebrate Independence Day.
