Information about Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden
Opened in 1992, the Chiang Mai Botanical Garden is a center to encourage research and biodiversity, allowing visitors to see the most diverse natural flora that Thailand has to offer. Nestled in a valley surrounded by rainforests, a whole host of different areas are available to visit. Visitors can wander around the flower gardens, the banana path or enter one of the many different greenhouses. Another highlight of the gardens is a 400-meter covered walkway suspended above the forest canopy, giving a natural perspective luminous in the air. The entire parks are huge and you will need transportation if you want to see everything in one day, and you will get a free map to help you get around. Outside the botanical garden there is a café, gift shop, and parking area if you prefer to walk rather than drive around the gardens.
