A distinctive archaeological landmark in the city of Trivandrum, and it is one of the famous tourist attractions in the city, which is frequented by tourists and locals alike, as the building is of great beauty. The name of the building in Arabic means "Palace of Horses" because its columns are decorated with wooden statues of 122 horses. It is a very spacious palace that extends over two floors. This palace has a long history as it was completed in 1840 AD and is a fine example of South Indian architecture in Kerala. Many materials were used during the construction process, including teak, rosewood, marble and granite. The museum includes idols, sculptures made of white marble, mirrors and many Belgian paintings.
