Preston Park is a park near the village of Preston in Brighton & Hove, East Sussex, England. It is one of the largest parks in Brighton, with 63 acres (250,000 m2) of lawns, formal borders, rose gardens, bowling greens, tennis courts and a small pond. It was purchased in 1883 by the Brighton Company (then Brighton Municipal Council) from Sir William Bennett Stanford [4] who owned the Preston Manor Estate and began developing the park as an enclosed recreational grounds. The park was officially announced to open on November 8, 1884.
