Piazza Ariosteia, or as it is also called the Oval Square, is one of the distinctive monuments of Ferrara, which is located in the heart of the city in an easily accessible place. It is a unique square, as it takes an oval shape, and its name comes from Ludovico Ariosto, whose statue is located at the top of the column in the center of the square.
