Information about Pawiak Prison Museum
The Pawayak Prison Museum was opened on November 28, 1965 as a branch of the Museum of the History of the Polish Revolutionary Movement. The inauguration was attended by Polish Field Marshal Marian Spijalski, as many former prisoners and their families arrived at the opening and many residents of Warsaw. Besides the opening of the museum, the first permanent exhibition was displayed inside it until 1991. In addition to the reconstructed interiors and many aspects of the building taking into account the preservation of documents, drawings, and accounts of former prisoners. It is a place that reflects the dark period of the war in Poland.
