The Parliament Palace is the second largest administrative building in the world (after the Pentagon). The construction of the building began in 1984, and it has more than 3000 rooms and covers an area of 330,000 square meters. Entry is only permitted on guided tours. Several types of tours are available, including a "part" tour of the main rooms and corridors, and "full" tours that combine a partial tour with views of the courtyard and basement. The regular tour takes about 45 minutes, add an additional 15 minutes to see the balcony and basement. Today, the building houses the parliament and associated offices, most of which are still unused.
