The Palace of Music is located on the International Arena in the heart of Mérida and near a number of historical attractions. It is a wonderful example of the blending of modern and classical architecture, and its exterior facade is distinguished by a series of perforations that translate the musical symbol of piano playing into the architectural language. Founded in order to preserve Mexico's musical heritage, this museum includes 8 interactive rooms with lots of musical instruments and classical drawings, and a concert hall with a capacity of 450 people. This is in addition to a range of classes in which traditional and folk Mexican music is taught.
