Al-Omari Mosque is located near the main municipal market within the city of Nicosia. Studies and research indicate that the mosque was originally a church belonging to the Augustinian Order, dedicated to St. Mary. The main entrance door belongs to the original 14th century building. The mosque was distinguished by its decorations and inscriptions, which reflect a whole history of architectural creativity.
