The city's most famous landmark is the one-of-a-kind circular cathedral, designed by Niemeyer and completed in 1970. The sixteen curved concrete columns rise upward to form a crown surrounding a glass ceiling, the effect of natural lighting inside is absolutely stunning. The four large statues outside the entrance represent the four evangelists. It is a really wonderful place to visit and enjoy its beauty.
